Eddie W. Daniels

Our team is led by our Visionary Mr. Eddie W. Daniels. Mr. Daniels has an extensive business background, including over thirty years in the financial service industry. He recognized the need for capital for the workers at United Parcel Service and the ongoing need for financial literacy. Mr. Daniels helped charter Teamsters Local 177 Federal Credit Union. At Teamsters Local 177 FCU, Mr. Daniels held various positions that included founder, director and Chief Executive Officer.

Teamsters Local 177 FCU, which changed its name to Tri-Linc Federal Credit Union in 1983 was one of the first credit unions in the country to offer Risk-Based Lending. This modified lending product enabled more people with less than perfect credit to borrow cheaply. Eddie W. Daniels has also served as President and CEO of The Elite Associates, a private business, a Director and Treasurer of the New Jersey Credit Union League, Member Development Manager at Aspire FCU and CEO of First Bergen Federal Credit Union.

In 2008 he was installed as Director Emeritus of the New Jersey Credit Union League. The New Jersey Credit Union League is the advocacy arm of the credit union movement in New Jersey serving more than 1.2 million members. In February 2010, Mr. Daniels became Chief Executive Officer of Newark Board of Education Employees Credit Union. Newark Board of Education Employees Credit Union serves the largest school district in New Jersey and is the largest Newark based credit union in the city.

At Newark Board of Education Employees Credit Union, Mr. Daniels was instrumental in establishing a financial literacy component to financial transactions to instill in the membership the importance of managing and protecting one’s credit. Mr. Daniels is now President and CEO of Daniels Consulting, Director and Treasurer of Open Gates to Fly Enrichment School of Tutoring, Director and Consultant of The I Can Foundation. CEO of Macarthur and Wilton Properties and recently retired from President of the North Jersey Chapter of the New Jersey Credit Union League and Secretary of the Board of Professional Service Group of the New Jersey Credit Union League. The works of Eddie have been felt throughout the financial services industry.

The many positions held in the financial services industry showed Mr. Daniels a common theme in finance.  A bank makes its mark by building trust while providing the services needed by a community and doing it with a smile.
